Introduction to Ayurveda


What is Ayurveda? Well it’s a very ancient art of living wisely that has evolved and grown out of ancient Indian texts that explore what it is to be human, to live in society and in nature. Yoga and Ayurveda evolved from man’s desire to understand the nature of human suffering its causes and what we can do to eliminate it.

Ayurveda involves a range of techniques and methods from daily lifestlye advice to prevent illness, to nutrition, massage, herbs and much more that can cure disease and help manage difficult or incurable conditions.

In this hour and a half I’d like to present an overview of Ayurveda and explain in practical terms how it can support you in managing your life and that of your family. Despite its very ancient origins Ayurveda, like Yoga, remains as relevant today as 2000 years ago, it has stood the test of time and traversed cultures and climates. There is no greater testament to its wisdom and veracity, it simply works.
